All 3M Facepiece Respirators can be used with ANY of 3M's vapor cartridges and pre-filter combinations. The simple white, oblong pre-filters are held on to the cartridge with a #501 adapter. All round pre-filters, when used on a vapor cartridge, attach to a #502 adapter. All round pre-filters can also attach directly to a facepiece when only particulate (NOT vapor) protection is required}
